CURRENT 2024 SCHEDULE

APPRECIATION
Men for Christ schedules 11 meetings per year. None of these would be possible without the cooperation of our host congregations and especially the ladies and gentlemen who prepare our meals. Be sure to express your appreciation to those who invite us to be their guests.

NO DECEMBER MEETING
There will be no MFC meeting in December. There are plans for a newsletter as well as periodic updates at www.kymenforchrist.org.

The present-day American practice of Thanksgiving descended from the first Thanksgiving in Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1621. It is a unique holiday because it doesn’t commemorate a special event such as a battle or a birthday. It is simply a day set aside to tell God thanks for His many gifts.

GIVING THANKS
“I should like to feel that in every American family some place is made for expression of our gratitude to Almighty God and for a frank acknowledgment of our faith that He can supply that additional strength which, for these trying times, is so sorely needed.” –President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

“There is no lovelier way to thank God for your sight than by giving a helping hand to someone in the Dark.” –Helen Keller

“Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.”
–Charles Dickens

QUOTABLE QUOTES
So you don’t want to go to His house on earth, yet you expect to live in His mansion in Heaven? Think about that statement!

Church should be the reason you miss everything else—not everything else the reason you miss church!

McDonald’s can mess up your order 101 times and you still keep going back. One thing goes wrong at church and you quit. People just aren’t hungry enough!

Every time you get upset at something, ask yourself if you were to die tomorrow, was it worth wasting your time being angry.–Robert Tew

NOTE TO SELF
“What is my purpose in life?” I asked the voice. “What if I told you that you fulfilled it when you took an extra hour to talk to that kid about his life?” said the voice. “Or when you paid for that young couple in the restaurant? Or when you saved that dog in traffic? Or when you tied your father’s shoes for him?” “Your problem is that you equate your purpose with goal-based achievement. The Universe isn’t interested in your achievements…just your heart. When you choose to act out of kindness, compassion and love, you are already aligned with your true purpose. No need to look any further!”
