QUOTABLE QUOTES
Never forget, Jesus Christ was perfect in every way and they nailed him to a tree. Jesus endured the cross, scorning its shame and God has given Him the name above every name.
A dead battery can’t jump another dead battery. Get away from people who can’t charge your spirit when you need a jump!
You can only love God with your whole heart by following Jesus.—Dale McCamish
We can do much after we pray. But we should do nothing before we pray. –Max Lucado
“The church does not determine what the Bible teaches; it is the Bible that determines what the church must teach.”—Charles Spurgeon
Quit looking for a better church. Make the church you’re at better by being a better church member!
The church is not an audience to be entertained; it is an army to be empowered!

THINGS JESUS NEVER SAID:
–“listen to your heart”
–“be true to yourself”
–“trust your gut”
–“feel good about who you are”
–“happiness is what matters”
–“just be a good person”
THINGS JESUS ACTUALLY SAID
“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”—Luke 9:23

God is looking for those with whom HE can do the impossible. What a pity that we plan only the things that we can do by ourselves. –A.W. Tozer

THE CHURCH IS ALIVE AND WELL
In spite of what some people say and think about the church, no other institution has lasted as long. No other organization has had a greater impact for good. From the church have sprung hospitals, nursing homes, universities, public schools, liberation movements, concepts of human dignity, child-care agencies, and the concept of democracy. Millions of people attend athletic events every year, but many more than that attend churches. Professional sports events gross millions, but Christians give billions to their churches as free-will gifts. With so many negative things being said about the church, we need to pause occasionally and declare that it is still alive and well. Just think, the church is the greatest institution in history and you and I have the privilege of being a part of it.

POCKET-WATCH CHRISTIANS
Many Christians are like wheelbarrows; no good unless pushed. Others are like canoes; they need to be paddled. Some are like kites; if you don’t keep a string on them, they fly away. Still others are like balloons; full of wind and just waiting for a chance to explode. Then there are others like footballs; you can’t tell which way they will bounce. But praise the Lord, many Christians are like good pocket watches; with open faces and busy hands, they are well-regulated and full of good works. Christians like this are the backbone of every church.

WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR PREACHER
Pray for him. No one needs your prayers as much as he who stands to preach the truth of God’s word. Believe in him. If he can know you believe in him with all your heart, he will be encouraged to do his best. Stand by him. Support his visions and dreams for your church. Treat him generously. Churches have often been stingy with their ministers. A little generosity will not only make his way smoother, but it will also challenge him to show his appreciation by working harder. Praise him when he preaches well. He doesn’t want flattery, but sincere compliments are always appreciated. Criticize him only to his face and always in love. We can at least be men and women who meet each other openly and honestly on any matter. But more than this, we are Christians who practice love in all our relationships.
