Gene Alan Cooper, 67, of Mackville, KY, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. He was a member of Willisburg Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Vickie Darnell Cooper; two sons, Jim Cooper (Kayla) of Danville and Will Cooper (Emi) of Lawrenceburg; three daughters, Tabatha Cooper of Lawrenceburg, Sarah Price (Bart) of Willisburg, and Emily Luttrell (Charles) of Mackville; eight grandchildren, Austyn, Joe, Pia, Charley, Wren, Blaire, Cana, and Della; his father, Don Cooper of Lawrenceburg, and two brothers, Terry Cooper (Janet) and Larry Cooper (Shirley) of Lawrenceburg. Alan served as Manager of Camp Calvary for 34 years. During that time the camp grew both physically and numerically.. But the best measure of success of Alan’s time in leadership will be the generations of kids who have joined God’s family because of their time at camp.

As Christians we are tempted to make unnecessary concessions to those outside the faith. –C.S. Lewis

God wants full custody of His children, NOT just weekend visits.

If every member of the church was just like me, what kind of church would my church be? –Bro. Paul Patton

If the Apostle Paul saw the church in America, we’d be getting a letter!

If weather conditions require the cancellation of our meetings, information will be posted on the website as soon as possible. You may also contact any member of the Executive Committee.

God desires a relationship with you. Not just one where you show up at the same building once a week and say a prayer before you wolf down a meal. He wants you to know Him. He wants you to talk to Him. He offers a relationship with you that will never be severed! –Tim Tebow

Men for Christ will be 71 years old on January 28. It is doubtful that any of our current members were in attendance at Columbia Christian the night of the first
organizational meeting. Throughout its history, MFC has held true to the purposes of establishing congregations and supporting existing congregations in seasons of need. MFC was a partner in the most recent church plant at Elevate Christian in Lexington. All financial support for church planting and general assistance comes from General Fund offerings of local congregations and individual men who faithfully support MFC.

Gratitude gets us through the hard stuff. To reflect on your blessings is to rehearse God’s accomplishments. To rehearse God’s accomplishments is to discover His heart. To discover His heart is to discover not just good gifts but the Good Giver. Gratitude always leaves us looking at God and away from dread. It does to anxiety what the morning sun does to valley mist. It burns it up. –Max Lucado, You’ll Get Through This
