INTERESTING FACT
It was in the month of August that the 12 spies who Moses sent into the Promised Land returned to give their report, with 10 of the 12 giving a bad report. Only 2 of the spies, Joshua and Caleb, encouraged the Israelites to trust God for the conquest of the land. Due to the Israelites' rebellion, God punished them and made them wander the desert for forty years. (Numbers 13:1-14:10)
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
How's our faith? Would we be among the 10 spies who were discouraged, or among the 2 spies who were encouraged? "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11
"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you." - Psalm 56:3
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." - Deuteronomy 31:6
IN SUMMARY:
Let's strive to be like Joshua and Caleb. To be an encourager to those around us, in our churches, our workplaces, our communities, and especially our families. Encourage our students to be Bold for Christ as they return to their classrooms. To trust in our God to protect them and supply their needs.
